cheryls basket 3.jpg (206977 bytes) About Our Handmade Soap

If this is your first time trying handmade soap, you are in for a real treat!
Handmade soap is much gentler on the skin than commercially prepared soaps. It is natural and contains no chemicals. When you bathe with our soap you will notice a wonderful, silky feel to the lather. This comes from the natural glycerin. Once you have tried our handmade soap, you will not want to use anything else!

All our soaps are handcrafted, hand-poured and hand-finished. They nourish and moisturize the skin.  Each bar starts with a premium glycerin base just loaded with moisturizers that will feel soft and silky to your skin. No chemicals are used in the process. Glycerin is a humectant, a substance that promotes the retention of moisture. Commercial companies remove the glycerin from their soap and sell it as a valuable by-product to the cosmetic industry for use in things like lotions.  With the exception of goat's milk soap, all are vegetable based and meets vegan guidelines.

Our soaps highly fragrant because they are quadruple scented. Only the finest essential and fragrance oils are used to scent our soaps.  They are undiluted and very concentrated so the scent will linger longer than commercial soaps.

We offer two styles of soap:
Specialty designs that can be mixed and matched to create just the perfect gift you had in mind or to add a unique touch to your bath decor.
2 lb. loaves which are sliced like bread for use. These are very economical and are offered in any scent we carry.

As with any homemade soap, please store your soap on a soap dish that allows the water to drain off and air to circulate. Glycerin is a humectant and will draw water to itself.

Indulge yourself and add a personal touch of luxury to your everyday life.

  FEEL THE DIFFERENCE!!

Aloe & Olive Oil
Olive oil soap it is the best of the best!  Olive oil is added to a pure all vegetable base.  It soothes and hydrates and makes a soap that is both gentle and moisturizing on the skin, while providing dense, creamy lather. Aloe Vera Gel adds incredible healing properties (for burns and abrasions) and gives the base a slightly greenish tint. This base is very soothing, moisturizing and especially gentle for sunburned skin. It will leave your skin soft and smooth. It is vegetable based and meets vegan guidelines.

Creamy Goats Milk
Goats milk

The following list of ingredients are used in the manufacture of our soap and bath products.
They may or may not be found in the product you purchase.

Glycerin is a syrupy liquid that is chemically produced by combining water and fat. It is an emollient which is an ingredient that helps to balance or maintain moisture levels. Glycerin is actually part of the skin’s own natural lipid structure. As a moisturizing ingredient, glycerin helps the skin to attract and retain its own natural moisture, leaving it feeling soft. Rather than sitting on top of the skin, glycerin softens the skin while permitting it to breathe.

Beeswax  The honey bee makes wax in order to build a hexagonal cell where honey is stored. Beeswax can vary in color from yellow to black, as the pollen carried by the bee affects the coloration. We use beeswax which comes in white pastille granules, as it has been filtered and cleaned. Filtering the wax makes it free from insect body parts and stingers. The beeswax is NF grade which means it meets all of the FDA regulations for cosmetic applications. Beeswax is a natural hardener.

Vitamin E is an excellent antioxidant which softens the skin. We use Vitamin E Natural T-50 and studies have shown that this particular form of Vitamin E is the best antioxidant for cosmetic applications because it has a higher amount of gamma tocopherols compared to pharmaceutical Vitamin E pills.

Sorbitol is a naturally occurring ingredient found  in many edible fruits and berries, such as mountain ash, cherries, plums, pears, apples, and even in seaweed. It has a superior ability to retain moisture. It is commonly used in lip balms because of its outstanding moisturizing properties. Sorbitol also provides clarity and translucency to glycerin bar soaps.

Kaolin Clay is a highly absorbent clay that pulls oils and toxins from the skin. Clay is often used in spas to remove impurities. Its healing properties have been used by indigenous cultures since before recorded history. The clay puffs when in contact with water making for an extra slippery soap ideal for shaving.
The clay turns white soap slightly gray and some specks of clay might be obvious through the soap. They will disappear very quickly when in contact with water.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate is a free flowing white powder that provides excellent foaming and viscosity response. It is a 'skin friendly' cleanser.

Citric Acid comes from citrus fruits. It has astringent and anti-oxidant properties. It is commonly used in cosmetic formulas to adjust an alkaline pH thus creating a more balanced and neutralized product. When mixed in appropriate amounts with baking soda, it produces a chemical reaction that leads to the fizz in bath fizzies. We use ultra fine citric acid which is ideal for cosmetic applications.

Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) USP Grade is a natural particle that dissolves while cleansing the skin or in bath water. It is a natural alkaline that neutralizes acids and washes away oils and dirt. It's natural pH balance leaves the skin soft, silky and smooth. When mixed in appropriate amounts with citric acid, it produces a chemical reaction that leads to the fizz in bath fizzies. We use ultra fine baking soda which is ideal for cosmetic applications.

Epsom Salts (Magnesium Salts) is a common mineral found in water that gets its name from Epsom, England. Commonly used as a soak for the relief of pain from minor sprains and bruises.

Stearic Acid is an all-natural triple pressed vegetable based wax. It is a natural hardener for soap. We use cosmetic grade for our products.

Mica is used as for adding a special shimmering touch to lotions, powders, creams and soaps. We use cosmetic grade micas which are manufactured from tiny pieces of mica which have titanium dioxide and/or iron oxides fused to the surfaces. The size of the pieces will affect the reflectivity of the product, in that, the larger the pieces the more 'glittery' your product will appear.

Water  Can't get any more natural than that!
